Battery Fire Starter

Making and maintaining fire will greatly increase your chance of survival. Fire not only allows you to stay warm but you can also cook, scare away predators, boil water, etc.

Battery Fire Starter

Post by Alan Extreme »

If you run out of fuel in your lighter don't worry, you can start a fire using battery - something you can find almost everywhere. It works with any batteries as long it have positive and negative ends.

The best way is to use a 9v battery where both positive and negative ends are side by side. Just touch it onto wire scrubber and u'll see amber. Quickly put your tinder onto the amber and blow on it, it should start catching fire.

Another way is to use aluminium wrapper like those you found in chewy gums. Cut it like a figure 8 where the middle of the wrapper is thin but don't break it. When u touch the thicker ends of the aluminium wrapper onto the ends of the battery, the middle of the wrapper will start to catch fire.

Where to find battery? Look around yourself, do you carry a torchlight? Phone? Powerbank? Solar Panel? Emergency Radio? Walkie Talkie? Remote Control? Car battery?

Just be careful don't burn yourself.
