The are many types of fuel that you can use for fire, however the basic is to have Tinder, Kinder and Timber, also known as TKT.
Tinder is a fibrous material that help you catch the sparks and ignite into flames, the most commonly use are Cotton balls, Wood Shavings, Fur and Lalangs.
Kinder are material that can get the fire going stronger, usually last longer than tinder. Commonly used are bBranches and Fire starter.
Timber are material that can continuously burn for long hours, example are Firewood and Charcoal.

Do take into consideration of air travel restrictions on bringing fuel up the aircraft. For safety reason, paraffin solid fuel is the top preferred. Other considerations are high altitude fuel to avoid canister (heavier) and butane is harder to spark in freezing condition. Also the safety of storing fuel need serious consideration, especially leakage in long-term storage.
